Back to the Basics. This site has been many things over the years but was originally dedicated to a love of writing, speculative fiction, and punk rock. Then, for a brief period of time, it became my online engineering portfolio to satisfy a graduation requirement. Now, with no looming deadlines on the horizon, no projects, and not much of anything outside of work looming, it’s time to return to my roots and start proselytizing about my passions once again … and I can’t wait for my kids to be old enough to introduce to Isaac Asimov, Lou Reed, Ursula Le Guin, Joey Ramon, Octavia Butler, John Shirley, Joe Haldeman, Sid Vicious, Harlan Ellison, et. al.
Who am I? I am lover of technology, both old and new. I am an electrical engineer who specialized in control electronics, and I work in compliance (I am very opinionated on the subject as well). I make beer, collect guitars and typewriters – both manual and electric – and play loud punk music. I write science fiction, poetry and music, and I love a good bourbon. My kids, a boy and a girl, are the two most awesome people in the world as far as I’m concerned, and since they’re only 1 & 3 respectively, it’s only going to get better.
What you can expect. That is the question. I expect that I will post rantings, ravings, etc… (How about I just update this late once we figure it out, together?)
